Normal Operations
ThunderBolt may be set on either High or Normal Sensitivity while initially scanning for storms.

Estimated Time of Arrival
Once sufficient storm data has been collected, a storm approach speed and Estimated Time of Arrival to your location are displayed andupdated continuously.

Initial Warning
The initial Strikes Detected warning is displayed and an approximate range is displayed.

Local Storm Warning
The storm has moved within eight miles and is now in striking distance of the user. SEEK SAFE SHELTER.

Distance of Storm Activity
This display represents the closest detected stroke during the period of initial data collection. It indicates the number of miles the stroke occurred from the user.

Time to Clear
Once storm is local, ThunderBolt will indicate the time it will take for the storm to clear the 8-mile range. If new activity is detected during this time, the unit resets the time to clear.

Approach Speed
The speed of an approaching storm has been calculated. It does not always mean a storm will continue on the same course, because storms can change course.

Squall Line or
Multiple Storms
When ThunderBolt detects a squall line, it will provide squall line warnings and intensity information. It will also detect multiple storm cells within the 75-mile range, communicating only the closest approaching storm to the user.
